Exciting things happening folks!! One of my very good friends, Kyle, came to the city to celebrate her 21st! She got here Thursday and is leaving Sunday! It's always refreshing to have a familiar and close friend with you in such a large, hectic city! Last night, some sorority sisters, Kyle and I went out to a restaurant called, "The Park" to eat dinner. The Park is located in Chelsea. When we got inside, it was like something I had never seen before! The inside of the restaurant was literally decorated like an outdoor park! We got to eat on the patio, so we really had an outdoor feel! I ordered a Pear Blossom (Smirnoff pear, muddled lemon and rosemary, honey syrup and fresh lemon juice). It was strong, but beyond delicious (and beyond expensive). As for food, I was ravenous after I got home from work, so I decided to eat at home before we left. It was so nice catching up with Kyle, but I sadly had to cut the night short due to the fact that 1. I'm exhausted and 2. I have to get up at 7:15 Thursday-Sunday. There is time for play, but not much if you want to be able to function the next day at work.
Today at work, (actually the past couple days) Pnina Tornai is hosting her trunk show at Kleinfeld! This basically means she is in the store, meeting brides, promoting her new LOVE by Pnina line, and taking measurements of brides who buy her dresses to be sent to the factory. Could you imagine? Having the designer of your dress taking your measurements? * Sigh* LOVE by Pnina is a lot more affordable compared to her other lines (so naturally, it is extremely popular). Brides also get discounts on some of her dresses because there is a trunk show going on (perks people). She is BEYOND adorable. She has to easily be under 5 feet tall, yet my girl is strutting.... yes STRUTTING around in 6 inch heals. The best part is I still tower over her! She was so sweet, and did not hesitate when I asked for a picture. I hope you guys realize how famous this woman is! Her dresses are a mix of bling and sexy. Her style is new in the bridal world. They are revealing, yet in a classy way. I personally like to be covered up. However, so many brides absolutely rock her dresses with their personal style, flare and body shape.
Today, I also got to try on a few bridal dresses myself!! The part that stinks for you is that I can't post pictures :( But the good news is that I can tell you I am obsessed with wedding gowns, and I am slowly but surely finding out my own style. I love the full, bridal ball gown. I plan to try one of those on tomorrow. I feel wearing a dress that makes that big of a statement is only appropriate for nothing other than a wedding. I want to WOW my "audience" when I get married (lol what do you call the people watching? Guests? Spectators?). I also tried on a skinny A-Line which showed every bone in my body. It flattered me because I am tall and thin. However, the minute this bride gets some food in her belly, EVERY nook and cranny is shown. AKA my food babies (and let's be honest....I'm going to smash some serious Italian food at my future wedding). So that is probably a no go for me one day. It's really fun going around the store and pulling dresses I might like one day. Though my style may change, I still like figuring out what looks good on my body. Fit and flares are also nice on me. I love lace. I love beading. I love bling. Not too much though. No strapless. Nothing too tight. Must be comfortable. Can you tell I work at Kleinfeld?? :)
Nothing too huge planned for tomorrow. A farewell dinner to Kyle is underway tomorrow. I have been under the weather since I moved to New York. After this post, I plan to watch a little Netflix and then hit the hay. It's another full day tomorrow. I am on my feet from 9 am to 6:30/7 pm. It takes a toll on the body. I am trying to take it "easy", but I honestly, don't think it's physically possible to live in NYC and "take it easy". I miss all of you. Sweetest dreams, my loves!
